One of 6 children shown on the 1911 census, Eddie was the 2nd youngest at 8 years old and was living with his family at 35 Grosvenor Street, Colne, Lancashire.
He had been born at Nº 6 Atkinson Street, about a mile away, so they had not moved to far since then.
His father, Edward George was described as a Tailor. The word following that however I cannot make out, it looks like ‘Lowmeman’, but I am sure that is not correct (in 1901 it said Journeyman), his mother, Ann Ellen and his brother Walter (21) were Bobbin Carriers and his other brother, Robert Anderson was a Weft Packer, so all in the Textile industry, which was not unusual for that area of England.
